Lake Arts Project

A non-profit organization demonstrating how art is an essential part of life.

Background

The Mission of Lake Arts Project is to give young people an experience immersed in art, teaching them that art is an essential part of life. We accomplish this through creative and collaborative performance-based projects. Finding opportunities for young people to create art and to experience how their artwork affects the world around them provides a confidence and an understanding of community that is lacking in many people today.

The Idea: Aurora's Dream

In 2014, Lake Arts Project organized and collaborated with many people to perform Aurora's Dream. It was a successful project and the beginning of the now non-profit organization.

Step 1: Visual artists from Arrowhead Highschool (Hartland, WI) will freely interpret the dreams Aurora might have dreamed during her 100 year sleep.

Step 2: Professional dance choreographers from Catey Ott: A Dance Collective, Nomadic Limbs as well as other Independent Choreographers will translate the visual art into original works of dance.

The Result: A magnificent evening bursting at the seams with innovation and inspiration.
